Ideas for troops and buildings

    here are some unit and building ideas for the devs:

    Name: Bomb Bunker

    Type: Building

    What it does: Its kinda like a bunker, except with rocket launchers and/or grenadiers. You could have it start out with grenadiers and then once you upgrade it it would be rocket launchers, and if you upgrade it again maybe bombardiers.

    Name: Toxic Barb Wire

    Type: Building

    What it Does: Basically barb wire, except it poisons troops. Whether or not it would still slow troops is something the devs can decide.

    Name: Ghost

    Type: Troop

    What he/she Does: A solider with nothing but a small knife, however the trooper has a special ability where the troop can become invisible to the enemy soldiers. This ability would only last so long, but would still be very effective at taking out rather strong troops.

    Name: Radar Tower

    Type: Building

    What it Does: This building has a radius around it, and if a Ghost troop enters the area then the Ghost will immediately be detected. Also, if you put a decoy in the radius, the decoy will be revealed as just a stick, some clothes, and a helmet, causing troops to not shoot at it.

    Name: Suicide Decoy

    Type: Troop

    What it Does: This troop is basically a decoy, except its an actual troop. The troop would run forward, distracting all the enemies. Then, while they are trying to kill that troop which has tons of speed the friendly troops mow down the enemy. Also, there is a good chance the enemy will hit some of their own troops and buildings while trying to take down a Suicide Decoy.

    Name: Suicide Bomber

    Type: Troop

    What it Does: This troop is similar to the Suicide Decoy, except that this troop isn't nearly as fast and does not do such a great job at distracting the enemy as the Suicide Decoy does. However, this troop has a trick up his sleeve. When deploying this soldier, you can choose a target. This troop will run up to that target, and explode. When defending, you definitely would want to make sure to kill these guys before they get any where close to your base.

    Name: Horseback Rider

    Type: Troop

    What it Does: This soldier is more or less a grunt, except this guy is riding on a horse, and can speedily run through the battlefield. Depending on the accuracy, a enemy has a chance miss the rider and instead hit the horse, allowing the Horseback Rider to survive. However, when the horse dies the rider becomes a normal grunt (if anyone has a better troop for the horseback rider to become when the horse dies, then please tell me), and no longer has any special abilities like fast speed. When on the horse, the rider can get through barb wire a lot faster, and can also jump over barb wire, but only if it is horizontal from where the Horseback Rider is standing.

    Feel free to tell me anything that could improve any of the ideas listed. Also, if anyone has better names for any of the troops or buildings then tell me. If you have any other ideas post them here.

    personaly, I think a ranger should be on top of the horse

      About your building/structure ideas, I think variations to the structures we have already could work for the game. Like how there’s Fire and Toxic Barrels, why not have more variations to barrels? For Barbed wire, maybe a Toxic barbed wire could work, but it could be redundant. Trying to stick to the overall given themes of the games, we could try to figure out how these ideas, as well as all the many other ideas and suggestions made for GU!, including your troop/units ideas, fit the style of the game, which I think anything is possible. For example, ice or freeze barrels have been suggested before, but how exactly do you make it fit or make sense for the game? Do we have an already existing or similar ice or freezing mechanic in game to incorporate or integrate to? Maybe a new mechanic can be created? Another example using barrels, how about a barrel that just staggers units, since there’s already a stagger mechanic in game. Now we need to figure out what kind of barrel so it fits with the style or themes of the game. Would tar work? or a smoke barrel? Maybe the barrel releases a gas that staggers? Could be redundant though maybe not.

      So thinking about variation through customization, I always thought bunkers and sniper towers would be customizable somehow, like other troops would be able to go into them. Maybe customizable through cards like HQ. The Bomb Bunker would fit well for the game in this case.

      And I thought the same with Barbed wires as being customizable since many status effects such as slow down and loss of hp over time are reused in different ways in game.

      I was thinking Radar Tower similar to a customizable Anti-Air in being able to nullify other effects, for example, anti-gas, anti-rally, anti-FF, etc., and Radar Tower could could do the same. Or Radar Tower, while still thinking of customization options, could also be like a temporary status effect into the battle until it is destroyed. Similar to those status effects cards you can add to your loadout like Berserk, Influenza, Plague, Tactical Boots, etc., Radar Tower could be a buff or de-buff of specific status effects.

      Ghost troop unit reminds me of an alternate to Paratroopers and I like how you match Ghosts with their counter structure in Radar Towers.

      Horseback Rider can be similar to the mechanics of Riot with shield. Maybe other modes of transportation can be used other than a horse too. Again, thinking in terms of customization, a unit or units in a temporary apparatus or vehicle allows particular defensive or offensive capabilities, but if damaged enough, reverts back to regular unit or units.

      For the other troops, I think the concept works for the game but it has to be named differently and mechanics changed to something along the lines of a remote controlled drone or tie-in with the mines mechanics of the game. Maybe a “Drone Operator” or “Mine Specialists” or Robot unit. Maybe Robot could do the ricocheting bullets for the moving decoy mechanic or splash damage explosion mechanic for destroyed Robot as a walking mine.

      On a side note:

      “Walking Decoy” or offensive decoy or a moving decoy is what I called a tactic where a Focus Fire is placed so that a targeted moving enemy unit or units from an obstructed Line of sight causes stray bullets to target other units or structures along their path, damaging or destroying them while the targeted is defeated last or left alive.
