Does inactive account get deleted after some time ?

I am currently on season work and I won't be able to play the game until next fall in few months (maybe), I would like to have all my progress in tact by then. Or do I need to check in from time to time ?

No way, your game save is in the GU! server, you can continue anytime you want.
You can also delete the app until then.

it stays there, i once didnt play for 12 month due to a broken ps4 and all my stuff was still there when i came back

I think as long as the Guns Up! servers continue to be alive and working all your stuff will continue to be saved and preserved. Even when you are not playing actively, you provide a great value to rest of players with your unique base in the pool of possible bases other players can get matched against.

PS - Why not make a 3 Tent all Grunt, Rapid Deployment base with no Mortars or Sniper Towers or Barrels before you leave... need more of those

He can just put offensive structures looking in the opposite direction, everyone could earn huge amounts of XP
Also Training Grounds HQ card and 5 Grunts Last Stand, no sandbags lol

I encountered my first base with structures turned around just yesterday ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwTc8bXXxf0 ). That's a super weird thing to encounter.
