How about adding an ability to the engineer? The ability to cut the barbwire and deactivate the fire and gas cans. This should be a standard ability but it could be done with a engineer only perk. As the engineer moves through an area he sends out his wrench pulse, if it hits a trap or barbwire he then runs to it and dismantles it before his comrades are caught in it. Adding this ability would greatly enhance his usage during the attacking phase of GU! You could even set him up with a new medal, say cut (?) so much barbwire or deactivate (?) so many traps and earn the demolition expert medal = (? maybe extending radius of his wrench pulse by 10%). If you added landmines to the PVP game then the engineer could also deactivate those too.

Shoot missiles to your transport truck for boosting this mission.

Personally not going do this one, but take useless rally flags in to keep engineer next to truck when damaged. Since the engineer is usually running away the use of rally flags when truck has a lot of damage forces him to repair more against his best interest, lol.

Yes, it truly makes no sense that when deploying an engineer in the attack phase that he doesn't "hang tight" for 5 - 10 seconds before moving away. Personally I can't remember the last time I used an engineer in the attack phase and I've only played for about 3 - 4 months. Usually by the time you need him the fight is almost over because you've run out of munitions to pay for him or no way to keep him around with a flag.

Actually... how about this... The engineer's top priority is the Transport truck. So when he is spawned. He will stay to repair the transport truck UNLESS the truck's health is at 100%+

I think this would end the trouble with engineers.

It wouldn't end the trouble with engineers but it would help during a confrontation involving the truck and that would be a slight improvement. There is so much that could be done to improve the value of the engineer besides just repairing the truck.
